Our Teachers

Ms. Melanie  – Executive Director/Owner/Teacher

Melanie founded Kids Incorporated in 1996 with the creation of The Children's Workshop in Waltham, MA, which she owned and operated from 1996-2004.  The Children's Workshop was an NAEYC accredited child care program providing quality care and education for children ages 6 weeks to 6 years.  In 2001, she opened the Fox Hill School in Danvers, MA to provide an innovative and collaborative preschool program on the North Shore.  In the fall of 2011, she opened the Fox Hill School Pre-K/Kindergarten program.

Melanie received her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara, a Masters in Business Administration from Boston College and her Masters of Education in Early Childhood Administration from National-Luis University.  She is certified as an infant/toddler and preschool teacher and director.  Melanie has taught Early Childhood Education classes at Andover College in Portland, ME and North Shore Community College in Danvers, Ma. She is the past Chairperson of the Waltham Community Partnership for Children Council and served as a validator for NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children) for 5 years. She is currently the Co-Chairperson for the Danvers Community Partnership for Children.  Melanie teaches at the Fox Hill School and teaches Art and Science at the Fox Hill School Pre-K/Kindergarten.

Ms. Tricia - Director at the Fox Hill School

After working many years both in the hospitality field and as a business-to-business collections manager, Tricia decided to change careers. She began working at a small preschool program in Salem five years ago. Tricia first came to the Fox Hill School in January 2007 as an intern from North Shore Community College. Tricia received her Associates degree in Early Childhood Development, and is persuing her Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Lesley University.

Ms. Emily – Assistant Director / Lead Teacher at the Fox Hill School

Emily first came to the Fox Hill School as an intern from Endicott College in the fall of 2007. In the spring of 2008, she started working part-time for the Fox Hill School and graduated from Endicott College in May 2008 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a minor in Education. At Endicott College she was part of the women’s lacrosse team, as well as captain her junior and senior year. She plans to attend Salem State College in pursuit of her Master’s in the next year or so. Emily has previously interned with a third grade classroom as well as working as a substitute in the public schools. She was also a summer camp counselor for 4 years, working with children of all ages.

Ms. Michele – Lead Teacher at the Fox Hill School Pre-K /Kindergarten

After graduating from the University of Vermont with a bachelor's degree in History, Michele worked for many years in the architecture field. When her children were born she decided that she was ready to make a career change, and wanted to work with young children. It was then she decided to go back to school to pursue a degree in education. Michele as since earned her Lead Teacher certification from EEC and is finishing her Masters degree in Early Childhood Education from Lesley University.

Ms. Amy – Lead Teacher at the Fox Hill School

Amy first came to Fox Hill as an intern in 2009 from Endicott College. Upon completing her Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies with a Minor in Education, Amy joined our team in 2010. Amy has interned in several early education classrooms and enjoys being a nanny in the summer. Amy previously worked as a gymnastics instructor for all ages, an assistant coach for Endicott Cheerleading and was captain of her high school and college cheerleading teams. Amy plans to further her education with a Master’s in Early Education but in the mean time enjoys spending her days with her Fox Hill Friends!

Ms. Christina –Teacher at the Fox Hill School Pre-K /Kindergarten

I was first introduced to the Fox Hill School when I enrolled my daughter there in 2007.  I was very impressed with the program and knew that I wanted to be a part of this wonderful teaching team. I had put my education on hold while raising my daughter, but I have resumed classes at Salem State to finish my degree in Early Childhood Education and Psychology. I enjoy spending time with my husband and daughter, as well as reading and photography.

    I happened to chance upon your blog and found it very interesting!

    We have recently launched a science app that uses augmented reality to enhance classroom teaching. The app has 3D models for kindergarten to grade 12. I thought you might want to check it out and may be review it on your blog, if possible.
